Stephenson won the last time they faced Arabia Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jaguars took down the Rams 40-26. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jaguars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Rams are ranked 257th).

Stephenson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Johnson, who rushed for 126 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Johnson's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another receiver making a difference was Noah Mahoney, who picked up 173 receiving yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stephenson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stephenson's defense and their six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Tyrell Eldridge: he picked up a sack, made five total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended three passes.

Stephenson's record is now 2-0. As for Arabia Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Stephenson will host Dutchtown at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Arabia Mountain, they will venture away from home to challenge Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
