Basketball Recap: Colbert Heights Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Colbert Heights can now relate to. They were beaten by the Mars Hill Bible Panthers 71-38 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Panthers are ranked 98th).

Colbert Heights has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-14-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Mars Hill Bible, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Colbert Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mars Hill Bible, they will challenge Sheffield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
