Cooper came out on top against Coronado on Friday thanks in part to Peyton Ewing's efforts. Ewing rushed for 119 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one TD. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2024.

Ewing and Cooper will be playing in front of their home fans against Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ewing will face off against Eric Powell, the Mavericks' star running back.
