Volleyball Recap: West Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

West had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Cottonwood Colts by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colts, too.

West got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 31-29, 25-27, 26-24, 25-19.

Leading West to victory were Leatula'I Pututau and Rosana Hafoka. Pututau had nine digs and six aces, while Hafoka had six aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good server: West was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Draper APA on the 14th. As for Cottonwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hillcrest at 6:30 p.m.
