Atherton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 65-60 W against the Waggener Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Ravens, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Atherton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9. As for Waggener, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Coming up, Atherton will be playing in front of their home fans against W.E.B. DuBois Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th. As for Waggener, they will take on Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
