City View has gone a perfect 5-0 against Valley View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (City View has three straight wins, Valley View has 18 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

City View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Millsap 53-14. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Malachi Williams produced another solid effort throwing for 247 yards and five TDs on only 14 passes, while also rushing for 33 yards and one touchdown.

City View didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Millsap to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Shaun Sanchez for the heroic effort on defense: he. City View wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.3%.

City View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marcus Campos, Matthew Whiteside, and Caden Smith picked up one apiece. City View got some further help from Jayden Bradford: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Valley View fell victim to Jacksboro and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 61-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1149th, while the Tigers are ranked 397th).

City View's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for City View against Valley View when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
