Baseball Recap: Upper Dauphin Area Trojans vs. Juniata Indians        
        
		
            Upper Dauphin Area had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-7  on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Juniata Indians with a sharp  13-5 victory. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

 Karson Engle made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off only  two  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with five  RBI and two  doubles. Those  five  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Tyler Erdley was a standout: he got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  stolen bases and four  runs. He has become a key player for Upper Dauphin Area: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Colt Bellis, who  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Upper Dauphin Area was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .457. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
As for Juniata, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-1 record  this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat they have suffered  against Upper Dauphin Area since May 18, 2021.
 On Juniata's side,  Drew Geedey and  Bryce Harlon stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Geedey  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run, while  Harlon  went 2-for-4 with one  triple and two  RBI.
 Upper Dauphin Area is taking a road trip to  challenge West Perry  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Juniata, they will be playing at home against Line Mountain  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
