Basketball Recap: Colin Durkin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kenston

Riverside won the last time they faced Kenston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Riverside Beavers managed a 62-58 victory over the Kenston Bombers.

Riverside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colin Durkin, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points and four steals. That's the most steals Durkin has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Brown, who posted 13 points and seven boards.

Riverside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Kenston lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braelyn Akins, who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points. Eli Ellis was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Riverside's record is now 12-5. As for Kenston, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will head out to square off against North at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is facing North at the right time seeing as North is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Kenston, they are taking a road trip to face off against South at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
