Softball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Gets the Win

Grace Christian Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let The Webb School Feet get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Audrey George made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rachel Shipman, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Shipman, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Grace Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Grace Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for The Webb School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Grace Christian Academy Lions duke it out with Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Webb School, they will head out on the road to challenge Franklin Road Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Franklin Road Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
