Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

The Mountain View Toros are taking a road trip to take on the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Red Mountain likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, Mountain View took their contest with ease, bagging a 73-40 win over Skyline. The Toros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Red Mountain hadn't done well against Dobson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Red Mountain strolled past Dobson with points to spare, taking the game 52-34. 52 seems to be a good number for the Mountain Lions as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Red Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Mountain View, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

Mountain View was taken down by Red Mountain 55-27 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
