The Lockney Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Gruver Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Lockney was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-22 to Crosbyton. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lockney's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kason Villareal, who rushed for 161 yards and a pair of TDs, and Daniel Alvarado, who rushed for 123 yards and one score. Gruver's run defense was locked in: Farwell could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. The Greyhounds' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.4.

Lockney's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Gruver, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
