Basketball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

After flying high against Aloha last Tuesday, Mountainside came back down to earth. The matchup between the Mountainside Mavericks and the Southridge Skyhawks didn't end well, with the Mountainside Mavericks falling 63-46. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Skyhawks are ranked fourth).

Mountainside's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Southridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Mountainside has already played their next game, a 69-46 victory against Beaverton on the 4th. As for Southridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-42 win against Jesuit on the 4th.
