Softball Recap: Jefferson Academy's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Englewood on Saturday, Jefferson Academy came back down to earth. The Jaguars fell just short of the Kennedy Commanders by a score of 15-14 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Commanders: they've now lost three in a row.

Hannah Stumpher and Aubrey Cox did some serious damage despite the final result: Stumpher went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Cox got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Arnold, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jefferson Academy fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Jefferson Academy will take on Aurora Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.4 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kennedy, they will head out to take on Thornton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
