Basketball Recap: West Orange-Stark Takes a Loss

West Orange-Stark lost against Silsbee back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs took a blow against the Silsbee Tigers, falling 72-32. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.

Jena Warden continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Silsbee, going 10 for 19 en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Warden has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ayana Washington was another key player, going 6 of 13 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds.

West Orange-Stark's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Silsbee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

West Orange-Stark will be playing at home against Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange-Stark is facing Jasper at the right time seeing as Jasper is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Silsbee, they are taking a road trip to square off against Vidor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Silsbee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Vidor likes a good challenge.
