Softball Recap: South Summit Wins Going Away Against Ogden

It was a proper cat-fight when South Summit challenged Ogden on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers 13-2. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Toshlyn Louder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Malia Olson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Mariah Bowen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Summit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are 13-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Summit's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Ogden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither South Summit nor Ogden have any future games scheduled.
