Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Winner

If Chamberlain wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Winner, they should've done a better job of containing Carter Craven. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 50-29 victory on Tuesday with plenty of help from Craven, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Winner's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Tideman, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Winner and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 24.5 points. As for Chamberlain, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Looking ahead, Winner will be playing in front of their home fans against Wagner at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chamberlain, they will head out to challenge Cheyenne-Eagle Butte at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cubs will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
