Preview: Dayspring Academy Shires vs. Foundation Christian Academy Falcons
The Dayspring Academy Shires will head out on the road to face off against the Foundation Christian Academy Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dayspring Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Dayspring Academy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 75-57 to Agathos Classical. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dayspring Academy in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.
John-Michael Martin put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 8-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a triple-double on 29 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Martin is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, after only 15 points in their last match, Foundation Christian Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against the Mustangs back in January. Foundation Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 60-29 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Foundation Christian Academy as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Dayspring Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Foundation Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Dayspring Academy lost to the Falcons on the road by a decisive 61-45 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Dayspring Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
