Basketball Recap: First Colonial Comes Up Short

First Colonial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cox Falcons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-37 back in December of 2024.

First Colonial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cox, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Colonial will challenge Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. First Colonial is facing Lakeland at the right time seeing as Lakeland is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cox, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Norfolk Collegiate at 5:30 p.m.
