Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central lost against Schley County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Central Hawks had to suffer through a 66-32 loss at the hands of the Schley County Wildcats.

Schley County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Goodin led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emilyn Sizemore, who went 7-for-10 on her way to 20 points and four steals.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Schley County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schley County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-43 defeat against Taylor County on the 12th.
