Micah Marks and Isaiah Clendinen did most of the damage at the plate: Marks went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Clendinen went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Marks has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Broadus, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, while it was Miramonte who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Berean Christian who put up more. The Matadors fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2.
Miramonte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Leibowitz, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Moreau Catholic's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miramonte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Moreau Catholic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Miramonte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
