Softball Recap: Rivera Has No Trouble Against Donna North

Rivera never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Donna North Chiefs. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kiley Trevino made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Trevino was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jocelyn Vela was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Hazel Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Rivera hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donna North struck out six times.

Rivera's record now sits at 4-8. As for Donna North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivera will venture away from home to challenge Mercedes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mercedes' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Rivera's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Donna North, they are taking a road trip to take on Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Donna North has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
