Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Takes a Loss

GVCS Broadfording came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt an 82-27 loss at the hands of the Spring Mills Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the defeat, GVCS Broadfording had strong showings from Fernando Garcia, who posted 12 points and seven boards, and Maciej Klimowicz, who scored four points. Klimowicz is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

With the loss, GVCS Broadfording broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Spring Mills, the victory (which was their 14th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Looking ahead, GVCS Broadfording will be home for the holidays to greet Faith Christian Academy at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Mills will take on D'Iberville in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
