Baseball Recap: Meade County Green Waves vs. Corydon Central Panthers

Meade County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Corydon Central Panthers. The Green Waves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Meade County got a good showing from Ethan Jolly, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Jolly a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Josiah Pierce was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Tristan Cockerill, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meade County's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Corydon Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meade County will head out to challenge Bullitt Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Corydon Central, they will square off against Borden at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
