Softball Game Preview: Eufaula Tigers vs. Headland Rams

The Eufaula Tigers will face off against the Headland Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eufaula is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Headland will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Eufaula extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Tigers came out on top against Charles Henderson by a score of 10-7.

Jade Barnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Emerson Faircloth was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Maddie Dowling was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Eufaula was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 7-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Headland's offense. They lost 11-0 to Wicksburg on Friday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Headland's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Eufaula, their victory bumped their record up to 12-16.
