Annapolis Christian Academy hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost five straight) but thanks in part to Jake Gwaltney that streak is no more. The Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors took down the School of the Woods Wildcats 66-47 on Saturday thanks in part to Gwaltney, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.
Another player making a difference was Xavier Lockyer, who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.
School of the Woods lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kieran Knight, who posted 11 points and three steals. Knight is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Lukka Monteagudo was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.
Annapolis Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for School of the Woods, the loss snapped their winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 24-3 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annapolis Christian Academy will head out to take on Incarnate Word Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
