Football Recap: Juniata Takes a Loss

Juniata was the 29-14 winner over Steelton-Highspire when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Steamrollers on Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Juniata lost, don't look at Jasper Shepps. Despite the final result, he picked up 94 receiving yards and one TD. Shepps also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Juniata's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Juniata will be playing in front of their home fans against Line Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Steelton-Highspire, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Halifax at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
