Volleyball Recap: Somerset Academy Takes a Loss

Somerset Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Flanagan Falcons. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

While Somerset Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20.

Simon Morales paced Somerset Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Morales got some help from Joshua George and his 13 assists. Morales was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Somerset Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Flanagan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Somerset Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Avant Garde Academy on the 14th. As for Flanagan, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Miramar on the 14th.
