Recap: Kansas City Christian School Panthers vs. School of the Ozarks Patriots
The Kansas City Christian School Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of School of the Ozarks. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kansas City Christian School has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School of the Ozarks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Widner, who scored eight points along with ten steals and five rebounds. Widner is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shadrach Thompson, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Kansas City Christian School's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for School of the Ozarks, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3.
Kansas City Christian School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cair Paravel at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. School of the Ozarks will be home for the holidays to greet Fordland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
