Basketball Recap: Garon Blalock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pendleton over Wade Hampton

Pendleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 54-42 to the Wade Hampton Generals. The Bulldogs lost against the Generals in their previous head to head back in November of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-26 score last time.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Garon Blalock, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brice Bolt, who had ten points.

Pendleton's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Wade Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Pendleton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-33 defeat against Prince Avenue Christian on the 30th. As for Wade Hampton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hillcrest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
