Recap: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Cook Hornets

The Tift County Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Cook Hornets, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Tift County walked away with a 54-41 victory over Cook. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Tift County did.

Tift County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fred White led the charge by scoring 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Malachi Evans, who scored ten points.

Cook's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryan Hawkins, who scored nine points along with two steals. Ny'shaun Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Tift County's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Cook, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Tift County will be playing in front of their home fans against Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cook won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dodge County at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Averaging 68.8 so far this season, Dodge County's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Cook better be ready for a challenge.
