Softball Game Preview: Laton Mustangs vs. Legacy Christian Academy Lions

For the second straight game, Laton will face off against Legacy Christian Academy. The Mustangs will square off against the Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Laton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven games.

Laton barely beat Legacy Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Lions 26-16 on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Heffley was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Samantha Peralez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Laton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They are 7-3 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
