Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Holy Cross was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Crosby on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders fell just short of the Woodland Regional Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Holy Cross sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Holy Cross lost, don't look at Alexa Ruggia. Despite the final result, she had 32 digs and one assist.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Woodland Regional, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-5-1.

Coming up, Holy Cross will challenge Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodland Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
