Volleyball Recap: Ariminty Yu and Makayla Wong Secure Win for San Marino

San Marino won the last time they faced Pasadena and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Titans blew past the Bulldogs 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

San Marino walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-10, 25-19, 25-19.

San Marino was led to victory by Makayla Wong and Ariminty Yu. Wong had nine aces and five digs, while Yu had 19 digs. Yu has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 48 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenna Estandarte, who had three aces and one block.

They weren't the only good server: San Marino was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matchups.

San Marino's record now sits at 12-8-1. As for Pasadena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Marino will venture away from home to face off against South Pasadena at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pasadena, they will head out to challenge Glendale at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
