Haleyville waltzed into their match  on Monday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They had just enough and edged out the Mars Hill Bible Panthers  5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  6-3  back in March.
 Carson Gilbert looked comfortable as he  tossed 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jadyn Marbutt was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Eli Cagle, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
Haleyville pushed their record up to 19-6 with the  win, which was their tenth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mars Hill Bible,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 11-9.
 Haleyville and Mars Hill Bible should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Lions will  square off against  Curry  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  advantage  (42 vs. 296). Meanwhile,  Mars Hill Bible (ranked 99th) will meet Rogers (ranked 239th)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
