An exciting East v. West battle is about to be fought. The Lincoln Southeast Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lincoln Southeast will head out to face Lincoln Southwest after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Lincoln Southeast took an 83-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Northeast. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (63), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Southeast got top-tier performance from Mike Ngoyi, who went 12 for 23 on his way to 29 points. The dominant performance also gave Ngoyi a new career-high in blocks (two). Chewy Thoat was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln Southwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 71-66 victory over Lincoln High on Tuesday.
Lincoln Southwest's win came from a few key players Lincoln Southeast will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Uzziah Sanders, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 25 points and three steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Makkiah Sanders, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points and four steals.
Lincoln Southwest pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lincoln Southeast has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Southwest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lincoln Southeast skirted past Lincoln Southwest 53-50 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Southeast since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
