Baseball Game Preview: Hutchinson Tigers vs. St. Peter Saints

Hutchinson is a perfect 3-0 against St. Peter since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Saints at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hutchinson comes in on four and St. Peter on six.

Hutchinson let Southwest Christian stack five runs on them in the seventh inning on Saturday but luckily Hutchinson prevailed anyway. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Stars 7-6. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Stars on their field since May 18, 2023.

Meanwhile, St. Peter earned a 7-3 win over Waseca on Thursday.

St. Peter's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hutchinson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Hutchinson beat St. Peter 6-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
