Soccer Game Preview: Bath County vs. Bland County

The Bath County Chargers will challenge the Bland County Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bath County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against James River, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Bath County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 284th, while James River are ranked 119th).

Meanwhile, Bland County lost 7-1 to Giles on Thursday. Bland County were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Bland County's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Bath County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2.

Bath County beat Bland County by a goal in their previous matchup on May 6th, winning 2-1. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
