Softball Recap: Smithfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ponaganset on Saturday, Smithfield came back down to earth. The Sentinels fell just short of the Prout Crusaders by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Sentinels have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1. As for Prout, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Smithfield will challenge rival St. Raphael Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Prout is set to take on their familiar foe Pilgrim at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
