Softball Recap: Smithfield Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Smithfield's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westerly Bulldogs on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Sentinels' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Smithfield now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Westerly, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1.

Coming up, Smithfield will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Moses Brown at 10:00 a.m. The Quakers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Westerly, they will head out to face off against Prout at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
