Basketball Recap: Tremont Takes a Loss

Tremont was the 66-52 winner over Vardaman when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Tremont Eagles were dealt a 67-34 defeat at the hands of the Vardaman Rams on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tremont lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cooper Platt, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Platt a new career-high in boards. Andrew Curtis was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Tremont's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Vardaman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tremont will venture away from home to take on Brilliant at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Vardaman, they will head out to face off against East Union at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
