Football Recap: Southern Valley Eagles vs. St. Patrick's Irish

The matchup between Southern Valley and St. Patrick on Friday hardly resembled the 7-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles took a blow against the Irish, falling 67-22. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Irish recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Southern Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Lans, who picked up 121 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 60 yards. Avery Thiessen also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Mason Giebler, who rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries for St. Patrick's. The Irish are undefeated when Giebler posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Ben Hankla got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Southern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Patrick's, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
