2A/1A Conference 17 recap October 29, 2013

East Bladen moved up to 208 from 240 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A/1A Conference 17. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Wallace-Rose Hill 36-28.

Clinton added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating West Bladen, 42-29. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Dark Horses.

Daquan Lennon was the best receiver in the league this week as the Knights fell to Clinton. Lennon racked up 2 receptions for 62 yards. Tavion Graham helped West Bladen's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.

Leading 2A/1A Conference 17 in both passing and receiving yards, West Bladen's Colby Lewis and Malcolm Vaught have proven to be a lethal combination. Lewis has thrown for 499 yards this season, while Vaught has 9 catches for 160 yards. Union's Dezmond Faison leads the league in rushing yards with 1,163.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Russell Dove's team takes on Midway. The Knights are currently in fourth, while the Raiders are in second.

Trask lost to Midway 51-9 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dashaun Walker was a bright spot for the Titans, as he threw for 12 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 50 yards in the loss.
