Volleyball Recap: East Duplin Extends Winning Streak to Five

East Duplin had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Liberty Christian Academy Heat. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Heat two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

East Duplin never let Liberty Christian Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Leading East Duplin to victory were Karsyn Parker and Lauren Cottle. Parker had 11 digs and seven aces, while Cottle had six digs and six assists. That's the most aces Parker has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: East Duplin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in four consecutive matchups.

East Duplin's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Duplin will host Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will welcome Rocky Mount Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
