East Duplin waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Liberty Christian Academy Heat with a sharp 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Heat two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

East Duplin never let Liberty Christian Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Leading East Duplin to victory were Karsyn Parker and Lauren Cottle. Parker had 11 digs and seven aces, while Cottle had six digs and six assists. That's the most aces Parker has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: East Duplin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in four consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty Christian Academy lost, don't look at Jadea James. Despite the final result, she had 15 kills, six digs, and four blocks. James has been hot, having posted 13 or more kills the last five times she's played.

East Duplin's record now sits at 12-2. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

East Duplin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Pender on the 23rd. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Rocky Mount Academy on the 23rd.
