Basketball Recap: Heagen Manken's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eustace over Edgewood

Eustace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 46-39 to the Edgewood Bulldogs. Eustace lost against Edgewood in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-15 score last time.

Eustace lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Heagen Manken, who posted six points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Paige Quigg, who put up ten points.

It was another big night for Kagan Grant, who earned 15 points and six rebounds for Edgewood. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackie Jackman, who had nine points.

Eustace's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Edgewood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-15.

Eustace will host Malakoff at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Malakoff's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Eustace's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Edgewood, they are taking a road trip to face off against Mineola at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mineola will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Edgewood surely won't give up without a fight.
