Volleyball Recap: Ark City Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Ark City Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Newton (Home School) Mustangs. Ark City Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newton (Home School) apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Ark City Christian Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-12, 25-22.

Newton (Home School) found their leader in sophomore Chloe Hoelscher, who had 11 digs. Hoelscher is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Ark City Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Newton (Home School), the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Ark City Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Life Prep at 5:30 p.m. on October 7. As for Newton (Home School), they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against St. Xavier on the 18th.
