Basketball Recap: Knox Central Victorious

Clay County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Knox Central proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 76-70 win over the Clay County Tigers. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 69-68 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Knox Central is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Clay County, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Knox Central Panthers take on the Bell County Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bell County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Knox Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clay County, they will take on Barbourville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Clay County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
