Football Recap: Dover Takes a Loss

Dover extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Ozark Hillbillies and fell 71-7. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-7.

As for Ozark, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. That 64 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Ozark was led to victory by Cade Capp and Lawson Wright. Capp threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing, while Wright rushed for 81 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards Wright has posted since back in August of 2024. Kanyon Connelly was in the mix too, providing Ozark with one score.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dover will take on rival Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ozark is set to square off against their familiar foe Mena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
