Baseball Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The San Pasqual Golden Eagles will challenge the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (San Pasqual 3.5, Mt. Carmel 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mt. Carmel will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: San Pasqual extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Golden Eagles came out on top against El Camino by a score of 5-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mt. Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Mission Hills 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Sundevils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Shane Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, Ethan Coyle was excellent, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Atticus Enriquez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

San Pasqual's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

San Pasqual beat Mt. Carmel 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Sundevils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
