Basketball Recap: Linn County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southwest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Linn County). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Southwest Wildcats 77-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

When it comes to explaining why Southwest lost, don't look at Grant Warren. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 18 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Warren has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Moss, who posted 13 points.

Linn County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Linn County has already played their next contest (against Bevier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Southwest, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats duke it out with the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
